Three pink-purplish-lilac favourites: J Herbin Larmes de Cassis, J Herbin Poussière de Lune and Diamine Amazing Amethyst. LdC – tears of the cassis/blackcurrant is a marvellous blueberry-with-milk coloured, dark, faded pink. And the name is poetry in itself – tears of the black currant – couldn’t resist that and am happy that I fell for the temptation.
The PdL is a muted, greyish purple – with a beautiful shading. Diamine’s Amazing Amethyst is similar to the PdL, but more intense, darker with less red hues. Unfortunately the Amethyst is almost impossible to capture in a photo and it is closer to the Moon Dust than the photo shows . All three are perfect for letter writing (beware pen friends who doesn’t like pink – I was one of the no-pink-nevers until I realized that there is some beautiful pink inks out there), journalling and poetry.
Great post. I love Pousierre de Lune, but I see I not have more Herbin inks to add to my list :-)
Lovely!! My favorite colors. I love the Amazing Amethyst.
Beautiful doodles……
Great review! I love your sample page.
Of the three I like Poussiere de Lune the best both for color and usefulness. It’s been a staple in my rotation for ten years so you know I’m hooked. Amethyst is too gray and Cassis too pink for regular use but both are fun on occasion.
I’m a no-pink-never person, too, although I’m *starting* to be able to appreciate pinks sometimes, as well. Still, of the three of these inks I definitely like the two purple ones the best! I think I bought the Poussiere de Lune once, but my brother accidentally stole it. I’ll get a chance to try it at some point. Great colors altogether.
Those are pretty! I like Poussiere de Lune a lot. I haven’t tried the other two. I really like the look of them. I do have an amethyst watercolour paint. It is made with real amethyst and I love it!
Very nice! If I buy every nice ink I see, I will have more inks than I do pens!
Thanks! I feel exactly the same – that is why I’ve begun to prefer small ink bottles…
