During 1st-3rd July, 1863 the battle of Gettysburg was fought. A huge amount of soldiers were killed or severely injured. The course of the civil war turned. Three important days in the history of the United States. These are some of the photos I took there when I visited the site in February. Gettysburg has an excellent museum and a huge military park with memorials – living history. I spent around five hours there. It may sound like a substantial time, but I could easily have spent a few days walking around there since there is so much to see and give thought to. Important and fascinating.

Lovely pictures. Gettysburg is a striking place. Devil’s Den (the field with the large boulders) always gives me the shivers. I want to thank you for your excellent blog! I recently purchased my first fountain pen. Your paper reviews have really helped me out. :) Thank you.
Thanks for sharing your pics and impressions of Gettysburg. Never was there, maybe one day….visited other such historic sites….
You do a great job of capturing the spirit of the place…
Thanks!
Thank you! It was very special walking around there – both the exhibition and walking around in the fields. It’s almost impossible to capture and I’m happy you appreciate my attempts. :)
