During 1st-3rd July, 1863 the battle of Gettysburg was fought. A huge amount of soldiers were killed or severely injured. The course of the civil war turned. Three important days in the history of the United States. These are some of the photos I took there when I visited the site in February. Gettysburg has an excellent museum and a huge military park with memorials – living history. I spent around five hours there. It may sound like a substantial time, but I could easily have spent a few days walking around there since there is so much to see and give thought to. Important and fascinating.
