the last rose

This may look like a very dull photo of a rose and without its context it is. It is the last surviving rose of a rosebush on a nearby churchyard, which I pass almost every day. It has been been battered by the cold, but is still hanging on – at least a few days ago. The last rose this year. In November.

material cravings

I really can’t claim that I need another pen.  That would be a slight exaggeration. But this is one of the pens I really want: a Stipula da Vinci. It is both stunning and have the clever finesse of a retractable nib. Either the one above (photo linked from Stipula’s website for prodotti) or one with a carbon fibre finish that has a more rough and cool look – or both… A review of it with beautiful photos can be found here.
