sleeping corn fields

Sleeping cornfields in the heart of America, January 2012. I made many long walks along the country roads with my camera as only company. Since I was the only walker in the neighbourhood, my walks were noticed and I was asked why and where I walked and felt like that crazy Swede when I tried to explain that I walk because it keeps me healthy and sane.

a hazy shade of winter

p1420278

perpetually continuing

From a magic, hazy afternoon out at Gamla (Old) Uppsala Church (Uppsala’s first Cathedral, originating from the 12th century) and the Royal Mounds (dating from 5th and 6th century). Timeless grounds. It may look like winter, but Spring is in the air. It is. We’ve gained 4 hours of daylight in less than 2 months. Spring is in the air. It really is.

“Hang on to your hopes, my friend
That’s an easy thing to say, but if your hopes should pass away
Simply pretend that you can build them again
Look around, the grass is high
The fields are ripe
It’s the springtime of my life”

(Simon and Garfunkel)
