The Advent tradition is strong here. People put up stars or
chandeliers in their windows – beautiful in the evening – and lit a candle in anticipation of Christmas. One candle for every Sunday in Advent. This is the star that hangs in my study window and my first lit candle this year.

It has been snowing all day long. I’m amazed by this early winter. Big, soft snowflakes. Thankfully not wet snow. Pristine beauty as made for a walk in solitude.
